Rachel Whiteread states that in her work she want to "preserve the everyday and give authority to some of the more forgotten things." Her drawings are not technical studies for sculpture but they sometimes evoke emotions, like her drawings of old (stained?) mattresses. The drawings, like the objects she collects in her studio, are reminders (and remainders).
